J antar Mantar, Delhi Jantar Mantar was built in 1724 AD by Raja Jai Singh who founded the city Jaipur. It is among five observatories built by Singh across North India.  Where the Jantar Mantar is located?  Jantar Mantar is located on old parliament street near Connaught place, New Delhi.  Confused about what these observatories are ? Observatories are the places where some monuments are built to observe natural phenomena especially astronomical observations.  This observatory have four different astronomical instruments. It has extensive grassy lawns around it. The Iron Pillar of Delhi is one of the most curious monuments of India. It is a forged bar of pure unrusting iron with some other metal-mixtures having nearly 24 feet and weighs  six ton .  Pratapgad Fort , Maharastra Do you know why Pratapgad Fort is built? This Fort is built by Chhatrapati Shivaji in the year 1656. This place is chosen because of it's high altitude. It is built for Military purpose. Soldiers can observe all the city for any attacks.  On this site Chhrapati Shivaji and Afzal Khan fought on 10 November 1659 and Shivaji won the battle. Diwan-i-Khas Diwan-i-Khas, The Hall of Private Audience - chamber in the Red Fort of Delhi Diwan-i-Khas is an admirable marble pavilion which stands on a 41 feet base(plinth) built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The hall measures 90 feet in length and 67 feet width and its ceiling is supported by 32 carved pillars with precious gems embedded on them. It had a silver roof which was worth 29 lakh rupees, but this roof is no more as it was looted by the Jats in 1779 AD. Location: Red Fort , Delhi Over an arch in the central hall the famous inscription in Persian letters runs as follows:- "If there be a paradise on the earth, Is it this, i s i t this, is it this?" BIRLA TEMPLE, INDIA   Birla Temple is a modern time built Temple which shows that the old Aryan religions convinced and adjusted to modernism. It was built by Raja Bal dev Das Birla and from 1933 to 1939 at a cost of several lakhs of rupees. Actually this was sanctioned by the British India by the efforts of Mahatma Gandhi.
